Welcome to the Kodak Theater in the beautiful city of Los Angeles. Representing the city of Los Angeles, please welcome the honorable councilman Nick Pacheco.

Good evening every one! Are we enjoying ourselves tonight here in the Kodak Theater? Is Lala doing a great job or what, huh? Beautiful music, beautiful dancing and I love it!

Thank you for inviting me here tonight. Im honored to be among the Persian community. The city of Los Angeles enjoys what you bring to Los Angeles, and we love that you respect us and we respect you as great parts of Los Angeles. Thank you so much!

This is Mariam Torben from my office. Shes reminded me to say "Salam"! Good evening everyone!

At this point, I want to share with you that the city of Los Angeles, the city council, has given us this great duty tonight -- myself and mariam -- to honor Lala as a great artist, not only of the world, but someone who we can celebrate here in Los Angeles so I have a recognition that I want to present to her.

This is something that the entire city of Los Angeles city council has adopted, and Im gonna read it to you right now... oh! Someone said translate it into Farsi!

I know youre great merchants and part of our city of Los Angeles and I know that you provide services to the Latino community, and we thank you on behalf of the Latino community; let me thank you too.

Ill be reading it in English first before I bring up Lala. It says "Now therefore be a resolve that the city council of Los Angeles, on behalf of its residents, due here by recognize Lala Forouhar for her years of dedication, hard work and commitment to her craft, and to entertaining not only the Persian population, but the world!"
